The Covergence CXC Family
The Covergence CXC Session Manager is a series of next-generation Session Border Controllers delivered as either a hardened, high-performance appliance or as software that runs on a blade (a single board computer) in either the AdvancedTCA chassis or the IBM BladeCenter chassis. The Policy Manager for Real-time Applications is a new add-on policy enforcement solution for the CXC series.
The CXC appliances consists of an off-the-shelf chassis and optional, custom-designed media processor cards. This combination of off-the-shelf and custom hardware enables us to stay at the leading edge of the processor price/performance curve for signaling processing while providing the performance and capacity necessary for real-time media handling. All CXC appliances include an integrated clustering capability that enables customers to scale the capacity and availability without increasing management complexity.

CXC for ATCA

Over the last decade the telecom industry has been moving away from proprietary hardware and software solutions. The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) defines the components and standard interfaces for the software elements of Next Generation Networks (NGN), while the ATCA initiative defines the standards and interfaces necessary for the creation of a common hardware platform for NGN solutions.
The Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (AdvancedTCA) specifications, denoted PICMG 3.X , are a series of PICMG specifications, targeted to requirements for the next generation of carrier-grade communications equipment. This series of specifications incorporates the latest trends in high speed interconnect technologies, next-generation processors and offers improved reliability, manageability and serviceability. > More

CXC for IBM BladeCenter®

The IBM BladeCenter centralizes multiple computing tasks into a single enclosure, and then ties it all together with unified, powerful solution management tools. The result is an effectively managed infrastructure that helps maximize resource productivity and minimize IT and network administration costs. BladeCenter’s deliver an effective scale-out architecture that enables quick response to changing business conditions.
- Outstanding blade density- BladeCenter efficiently uses data center floor space with up to 14 2-processor blades or up to seven 4-processor blades in a BladeCenter chassis. The design features innovative I/O technology and cutting-edge processor technology.
- Affordable availability - BladeCenter chassis feature high-availability passive midplanes and redundant hot-swap cooling and power, helping to reduce single points of failure. Tight integration of key components such as networking services, centralized management and applications helps to enable high availability.
The high-density IBM BladeCenter chassis supports hot-swappable, high-performance 2-processor dual core or quad-core Intel processors. BladeCenter solutions make adding capacity simple, affordable and cost effective. > More
